Volunteers and benefactors make MACS possible.
Thank you to our volunteers for their faithful hard work throughout the year, spending weekends adopting animals at the satellite venues, fostering animals and all other support capacities.
The Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society has volunteer opportunities for animal lovers over 18. Volunteer applications can be mailed or picked up at the shelter. Please call the shelter at 313-891-1088 or email us to have an application sent to you.
Volunteers are needed at the following events:
On-site Pet adoptions—Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm · Walking dogs · Setting up/breaking down crates · Cleaning crates · Talking to prospective adoptive parents about adoption · Taking applications for adoption
Special Events · Dog show at Cobo Hall in March · Pooch Prance in September · Additional fundraisers as scheduled
